Hello friends,
The virus lingers. It takes up residence in the lungs, throat, and sinuses, and then it sits. It’s an uninvited guest who refuses to leave. I want to reach into my lungs and remove this phlegmy menace, but I’m saturated with it.
The worst part is the dizziness. It’s slowly descending into vertigo, making me wonder if it’s not an MS relapse. So far, COVID has triggered a persistent yeast infection, a cold sore on my lower lip, and a canker sore on the underside of my tongue. Why not an MS attack as well? It’s hard to tell, though. My compromised immune system is doing its best. I give it gentle encouragement in the form of sleep, tea, and an excess of Netflix.
I want to write you something beautiful. I want to infect your soul with poetry. I can’t manage more than a line or two, though. I keep losing my grasp on the words. They’re stuck in all that mucous, trying to claw their way out to fresh air.
Right now, this feels like forever. Everything always does. Hopefully, this forever doesn’t last too much longer.
